Displaying your device on Screen courtesy of Join Digital
To start regardless of your device, ensure that the TV is powered on and your connecting device is on the same network. You will not see the TV if either device is on a different network.

Example: In the screenshots below, both my Macbook and LG television are connected to the same WiFi network. Troubleshooting
Power ON
Ensure the TV is powered on. TV’s will not appear as a network or projection device without first being on. If the TV has been unplugged or interrupted, Miracast may have to be set up again.
Miracast
If you are connecting via Miracast and your device, you should not have to worry about what channel or input the TV is on as it will display it automatically when connected.
WiFi & VPN
Ensure you are connected to the network as other networks will not work. Secondly, check if you utilize any VPN or secure network connections. We’ve seen automatic enterprise and home VPN clients make our networks visible but non-functioning in various ways. If you do utilize a VPN, test the functionality of casting with it both on and off.
If you find that casting does not work while your VPN is connected, check with your network administrator to see if an exception can be made for our network. You can have them reach out to us at support@joindigital.com in order to coordinate.
Restart Your Computer
With docks, long runtimes, and multiple displays connected to, all devices can start to exhibit sporadic issues connecting to displays they normally broadcast fine to. When this happens, start off by restarting your device to ensure there aren't any lingering items that can cause issues.
Verify the name
In the event of a power loss or a network card issue, sometimes the TV will be reset, losing its name. In these events you can easily rename and rejoin the WiFi via the settings/menu button on your remote.
